Have you ever entered a class or a gym and found you were overwhelmingly intimidated? I have too.
Of course, I do enjoy exercising or dancing standing up! So, when people ask me why should I take a seat for my workout I answer with...
Sitting down releases one from feeling self conscience in their movements. No need to worry about bumping into your exercise class neighbor, or missing the flow of the group, or if you need to take it at your own speed and level- you can!
The following excerpt, from a letter I just received, says it better than ever!
...it seems that most of the benefits we get from our chair exercises are not visual, so much as therapeutic. Flexibility, balance, coordination, are among the biggest advantages. Not to mention the emotional lift from the music and laughter we share.
One member of our class is a 25 year old, young man, healing from a car accident. Having been in a coma for 4 months, his body and mind are both affected. He has many therapists, but I am glad he includes chair dance as one of his regular activities. He has improved a lot, but he has healed from very severe injuries where he began class in a wheelchair, and now uses only a cane, some of the time!
Many in the class are seniors, 60 to 90 years old. Abilities vary, and therefore like the fact that they do not have to keep up with anyone. They rest whenever, and join back in.
Everyone mentions how much better they feel when they attend regularly, twice a week, and how hard it is to regain the strength when they miss for a time.
Well, you probably hear all this from many people.
Yes, I do hear this from many people and I am gratified to know our Chair Dancing® Fitness programs motivate people to exercise for better health and wellness.

"Just received and tried this dvd 2 pack and really enjoyed both workouts. Neither is long, tone up dvd is about 23 minutes and yoga was just over half hour. You got a great workout from both and can't believe what you can do from a chair. I have severe arthritis on my right side (hip & [...]
